The pipeline inspection industry may not traditionally necessitate computer knowledge. If your company or organization is new to information technology we will be at your side in the changeover process.
Please note the specifications below are not our software's minimum requirements, but those of a new machine if purchased from us at the time of uploading this page.
PipeTech® Scan Computer:
Out in the truck, the computer running Scan is the high-end machine. A fast processor, lots of RAM, a decent size hard drive, and a preview card.
- Pentium IV processor at least 3.0GHz
- 1024MB RAM
- 80GB hard drive space and 80 GB hard drive space for recording
- Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
- KWorld Preview Card
- DVD Read/Write Drive
- USB2 and/or FireWire (IEEE1394) ports
- Rackmount case
PipeTech® Check Computer:
Based in the office, the Check computer does not have as much work to do as the Scan machine out in the truck. Although opening and manipulating the video and data files does require some processor power, it is well within the reach of any PC available today.
- Pentium IV processor at least 2.0 GHz
- 512MB RAM
- 80GB hard drive
- Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
- DVD Read/Write Drive
- USB2 and/or FireWire (IEEE1394) ports
PipeTech® View Computer:
The View machine has similar work to the Check machine, and could even be the same computer if your office is small enough.
- Pentium IV processor at least 2.0 GHz
- 512MB RAM
- 80GB hard drive (larger to allow for data backup)
- Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
- DVD Read/Write Drive
- USB2 and/or FireWire (IEEE1394) ports
PipeTech® Server:
In a larger office you may wish to run a server which can accessed by any computer on your LAN. This requires all computers to be networked using Cat5 cable and NIC cards, or wireless networking equipment.

- 1024MB RAM
- 80 GB System Drive and 250+ GB RAID System for Storage
- Windows Server 2003
- USB2 and/or FireWire (IEEE1394) ports
- NIC card
